Due to extended hot, dry conditions across the region, the Fire Chief has declared a total fire ban for the Village of Birchbay, effective July 8, 2026, until further notice.
While the ban is in effect:
- All open-air burning is prohibited, including campfires and fire pits;
- Fireworks may not be set off;
- Charcoal and propane barbecues remain permitted on private property;
- Previously issued burn permits are suspended.
The ban applies to all properties in the Village, including the waterfront, Pinegrove Park, and the municipal campground.
Conditions are reviewed weekly with the County Fire Coordinator. The ban will be lifted on this website and the Village's social media channels as soon as it is safe to do so.
