2026 due dates

A penalty of 1.25% per month is applied to overdue amounts, as required by by-law.
Ways to pay
- Pre-authorized payment plan — monthly or per-instalment; enrolment forms at the Municipal Office;
- Online or telephone banking — payee "Birchbay (Village) — Taxes," account number as shown on your bill;
- In person — cheque or debit at the Municipal Office;
- By mail — post-dated cheques welcome.
Where your taxes go
For a typical residential property, each dollar of the Village levy funds: roads and public works (34¢), fire and emergency services (18¢), recreation and facilities (15¢), administration (14¢), waste collection (10¢), and library, planning, and community programs (9¢).
Tax certificates & assessment
Tax certificates are available to lawyers and lenders for a $60 fee (5 business days). Questions about your assessed value should be directed to MPAC at 1-866-296-6722; questions about your tax bill to the Treasurer at treasurer@birchbay.canadawebs.ca.
