The Village's contractor will begin replacing the Mill Street culvert on Monday, June 22, 2026. The work is expected to take approximately three weeks, weather permitting.
What to expect:
- Mill Street will be closed to through traffic between Harbour Street and Cedar Lane;
- Local access for residents within the closure will be maintained from the Cedar Lane side;
- A signed detour will route traffic via Harbour Street and County Road 8;
- Garbage and recycling collection continues on the regular schedule — please place bins at the nearest accessible corner of the closure.
This project replaces a 60-year-old culvert that has reached the end of its service life and is funded through the Village's 2026 capital budget with support from the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund.
