Roads & Winter Maintenance

Keeping 28 kilometres of Village roads safe in every season.

Current construction

Mill Street culvert replacement — Mill Street is closed between Harbour Street and Cedar Lane until approximately mid-July. Read the full notice for detour details.

Winter maintenance

Village crews clear and sand municipal roads in priority order: main streets and emergency routes first, then residential streets, then lanes and parking areas. Our standard is all Village roads plowed within 12 hours of the end of a storm.

Winter parking: to allow plowing, on-street parking is prohibited between 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., November 15 through April 1.

Sidewalk snow: the Village clears sidewalks on Harbour, Mill, and Bedford Streets. Property owners are responsible for other sidewalks within 24 hours of a snowfall.

Report a problem

Pothole, damaged sign, plugged culvert, streetlight out? Report it:

County Road 8 and Highway 42 are maintained by the County and the Ministry of Transportation respectively — we'll happily pass reports along.
